Advance Security Receives Recognition for its Public Sector Services
Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council has commended Advance Security for its support in helping to cut crime rates in the area; while Officers at The Imperial War Museum North (IWMN) have been awarded ‘Best Team’ in the British Security Industry Association’s (BSIA) Regional Personnel Awards.
In Calderdale a team of four has assisted with 254 arrests and over 1,000 assists in the ten months since Advance was first assigned the contract; and in Manchester IWMN has praised Advance for its part in helping The Museum to become 2009’s ‘Best Large Visitor Attraction’ in the North West Tourism Awards.
“Both teams have helped clients achieve impressive tangible results,” said Advance Security’s Regional Operations Manager, North, Harry Robinson. “This is testament to their commitment and willingness to always go the extra mile. The teams are a great asset to Advance and our success at the BSIA awards is a reflection of the calibre of service they provide.”
At IWMN, for example, as well as providing a comprehensive security service, the Advance team is often one of the first ports of call for many visitor enquiries. Senior operations staff at The Museum attributed the Officers’ professional and amenable approach as contributing to its ‘Best Large Visitor Attraction’ status, as well as achieving one of the highest ever mystery shopper scores which initially saw it short listed for the 2009 North West Tourism Awards.
“Advance Security consistently delivers an exceptional customer service whilst maintaining a thorough approach to security issues,” said Helen Robbins, Head of Operations at IWMN. “The team brings added-value in its day-to-day duties and is always willing to help with ad-hoc tasks to assist in the smooth operation of The Museum.”
Similarly, a Senior Police Officer has extended the force’s gratitude to the team responsible for monitoring town centre, public space and council CCTV cameras for the professional manner in which it works with the CCTV Manager and emergency services to make Calderdale a safer place to live, work and visit.
“The team often advises us on new ways of monitoring and collecting evidence for the police and criminal justice system,” said Peter Woodhouse, QPM, CCTV Manager at Calderdale. “They have also identified areas of the Borough where new or replacement cameras would be beneficial to the Council.”
About The BSIA Security Personnel Awards
The recently re-branded ‘BSIA Security Personnel Awards’ – formerly known as The British Security Industry Association Security Officer Awards – celebrate excellence in the security guarding sector.
Advance teams serving the Northwest’s IWMN and Yorkshire’s extreme sports and leisure entertainment venue, Xscape, have both been awarded ‘Best Team’ in their respective regional heats and will join the other contenders at the national judging stage in April 2010.
