Advance Grows Its Green Credentials

Advance Security has saved the equivalent of 111 trees during 2010 thanks to its partnership with document shredding and recycling company Shred-it.

As part of its continuing green campaign, Advance Security works with Shred-it to dispose and recycle all of the company’s confidential waste paper across its seven office locations. To mark the accomplishment, Shred-it has presented an Environmental Certificate of Achievement to Advance.

Since attaining the ISO 14001 British Standard for Environmental Management in 2008, the manned guarding specialist has successfully reduced its CO2 footprint year-on-year by implementing simple measures such as installing video and teleconferencing facilities, introducing a paper usage policy and recycling policy.

“We have been using Shred-it for four years and besides the peace of mind that using a secure system to dispose of our paperwork delivers; the environmental benefits soon stack up too. Shred-it’s affirmation of the impact it’s having is an encouraging reminder to continue growing our environmental credentials, ’’ said Advance Security’s Managing Director, Richard Bailey.
