Advance Achieves Double Recognition

Leading nationwide security provider, Advance Security, has been shortlisted in two categories in this year’s National Business Awards (NBA).

Sponsored by Orange, the NBA is promoted as the premier, cross-industry awards programme in the UK. Open to FTSE 250’s through to thriving entrepreneurial businesses and established SMEs, the Awards recognise ‘outstanding’ British businesses.

Selected to go through to the final round in the ‘City and Guilds Employer of the Year’, and ‘Customer Focus’ categories, managing director of Advance Security, Richard Bailey, is delighted with the news. “To be shortlisted in two categories is excellent; particularly as we are competing with businesses out with our own industry.  Our dedication to our workforce and our customers is second-to-none and it’s extremely rewarding to be recognised for our hard work and advancements in these areas over the last twelve months. “

Measures Advance Security has introduced which are central to the shortlisting include:

• Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) level 5 training (a course currently only delivered by Advance within the security industry)
• A diversity policy which encourages increased cultural awareness across the workforce
• ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditation.

The NBA finalists will present to the judges in June with the awards ceremony taking place in July.

Advance will be submitting entries to a number of additional awards this year, including the Security Excellence Awards (Environmental Initiative, Customer Care, and Contract Security Manager) and the Chamber Business Awards (Green Award and Excellence in Customer Service).

Advance is no stranger to award success having won the 2008 British Security Industry Association’s (BSIA) Inspiration in HR Award.
