Advance Security Short listed for Business Excellence
Leading security services provider, Advance Security, has been recognised for its excellent work in Corporate Social Responsibility and technology by being short listed in this years National Business Awards, sponsored by Orange. After demonstrating their achievements, Advance Security has been short listed for the Corporate Social Responsibility Award and the Orange Best Use of Technology in Business Award for the north west region. Managing director and head of Advance’s CSR steering group, Richard Bailey, is delighted with the nominations. “To be recognised for our strengths in these areas is fantastic, even more gratifying as we are competing against companies that are outside of our industry. We’ve always been confident in our approach within awards sectors, but its good to know we are also a front liner in the use of technology and corporate social responsibility across other industries” CSR is key to the continued development of Advance Security and they work closely with all their customers and suppliers to embrace and promote their commitments in four key areas; environment, community, workplace and marketplace. Becoming aware of the requirement for a comprehensive CRS strategy in late 2006, in just over 12 months they have gone from a limited awareness of CSR, to ensuring its complete day-to-day integration across their business practices. The development of a strong IT infrastructure throughout their operations led Advance Security into the shortlist for the best use of technology. Initiatives developed within the company included the introduction of RoleCALL, a bespoke automated management information and reporting system and the use of BlackBerry technology. Teamed with a specialist Telecoms provider, Advance has developed bespoke software which allows their management teams to complete much of their daily paperwork via the BlackBerry, using consistent and streamlined procedures and submitting their reports in real time.
