The Advance Security operational management team has become the first in the industry to complete the Institute of Leadership Management (ILM) level 5 training programme.  

The qualification which deals specifically with people management, team building and development, managing for efficiency and effectiveness, and understanding the management role, was employed to enhance the current skill set of the Advance operational management team, highlighting Advance Security’s long standing commitment to investing in training packages for employees at all levels.

Starting in September 2007, 19 Advance operational managers began the ILM course, committing to one full days training per month over the last year.   Run by Advance Security partner, Senate Training, the curriculum is designed to be easily integrated into attendees’ schedules, ensuring that it does not interfere with their day-to-day responsibilities.

Enhancing the ILM training offer, Advance also runs a series of robust assessment centres which assess the observation skills, communication abilities and wider security knowledge of all Advance operational managers and these centres have already resulted in some very positive feedback from both clients and staff.

Managing director Richard Bailey comments “In line with our continuing commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility, the Advance senior management team is fully committed to the personal development of all employees and we plan to link the assessment centres and ILM training course to deliver a progressive and exciting personal development plan for the team in 2009 and beyond.”
