Advance Accreditation in Scotland
Having achieved Approved Contractor Status (ACS) from the SIA in England and Wales in 2006, Advance Security has now received the endorsement across Scotland.
A regulation insisting that over 85% of security officers have individual SIA accreditation comes into Scotland in November this year, having first been implemented in England and Wales in 2006. As Advance Security is already well on its way to this level of accreditation in Scotland the SIA has awarded it with the Approved Contractor Status.
National Projects Director, Chris Palmer, explains how this high level of accreditation has been accomplished, “In an attempt to consistently achieve high SIA accreditation, Advance Security has bought together its recruitment, vetting and licensing departments, in order to simplify the process. The duplication of information is no longer necessary, as a sophisticated IT system has been put in place so that all sections work from one central database. The result of this is quicker and more efficient processing of applications.”
The SIA Approved Contractor Status is obviously a highly valued accreditation in the security industry and has so far only been achieved by a handful of companies in Scotland. The combination of Advance Security’s ACS accreditation and several new contract wins within the shopping centre and retail sectors will extend Advance Security’s reputation as being a leading security provider throughout Scotland.
