Triple Short List Success at the Security Excellence Awards 2011

Advance Security has been shortlisted in three Security Excellence Award (SEA) categories: the coveted ‘Security Guarding Company of the Year’; ‘Contribution to Standards in the Security Sector’ and ‘Contact Security Manager of the Year’.

Security Guarding Company of the Year

Advance Security is immensely proud to be nominated for the prestigious ‘Security Guarding Company of the Year’ award. Taking a risk management and protection stance, the company’s business continuity and specialist capabilities are just some of the service offerings that differentiate Advance as a credible contender in arguably the SEA’s most prestigious category.

Contribution to Standards in the Security Sector

As well as achieving against all the required industry standards, Advance Security has voluntarily sought the relevant third party accreditations to set its offering apart from other providers. With three nationally recognised accolades secured in just three years, the company has worked tirelessly to achieve and maintain ISO 14001 (Environmental Management); OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health); and BS 25999 (the British Standard in Business Continuity). As the first major UK security company to secure BS 25999 and the only provider to have secured all three, the company is continuing to lead by example and its nomination in the ‘Contribution to Standards in the Security Sector’ is testament to this proven commitment.

Contract Security Manager of the Year

Last but by no means least, Advance officer Joe Purser has been shortlisted for his work with State Street Bank, on London’s Canary Wharf. As well as building and managing the 40-strong team, Joe oversees the London control room, which is the centre for the UK and EMEA regions.

Joe regularly uses his skills as a qualified trainer to carry out in-house training to ensure his team are up to speed with the latest profiling techniques; is a crucial part of the contract. In addition, Joe often runs a series of ‘desktop’ exercises with officers and employees at State Street, which aims to replicate real life scenarios that they may face. It is for this dedication to providing officers with the mental and physical capacity to cope with emergency response situations that the SEA judging panel has short listed Joe for ‘Contract Security Manager of the Year’.

The winners of the Security Excellence Awards 2011 will be announced on the 19th October at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
